Wild Spruce Tips dipped in Chocolate

by meadguide

Why should you consider turning these little bright green tips into gourmet bites?

They are very healthy, full of vitamin C and minerals like potassium and magnesium. Making spruce tips syrup & tee can naturally treat cough and sore throat. Since they have a refreshing, citrusy taste, you can also turn them into a delicious, healthy chocolate snack.

Have you already tried dipping freshly picked wild spruce tips in chocolate? If you don’t have the patience, you can also pour chocolate over it. This is one of the easiest healthy snacks out there. But who says that it has to be just a “snack”? You can definitely turn these tiny trees into gourmet bites that pair perfectly with dessert (honey) wine due to their citrusy taste.⁣

A glass of cold, sweet mead is a fantastic choice of dessert wine for the grand finale of your full-course meal. We used the one from Meadery Jere.  It can be enjoyed on its own, due to it’s rich, full-mouth taste. However, it is a good idea to serve some kind of sour finger food with it to balance the sweetness. Considering their citrusy taste, these tiny trees/gourmet bites are a perfect fit!

After dipping them into the melted chocolate of your preference, make sure to keep them in the fridge so they are cold and firm when you serve them. Enjoy!
