Do you know the feeling of going to a cocktail bar and craving a cocktail that feels like a dessert … yes? Then this mead and rum cocktail was created just for you!
Sometimes, those refreshing or bitter cocktails just won’t do the job! If you like rum, imagine drinking a mead and rum cocktail, made with delicious banana juice and a touch of cream. If this sounds good to you, then let’s get right into the good stuff. Here is how you make it:
- 4 cl of Bumbu XO Rum
- 8 cl of pure sweet mead by Lymebaywinery
- 12 cl of banana juice
- 4 cl of cream
- Ice cubes
Before starting, make sure to chill your glassware. Add ice cubes to your shaker and pour the rum, mead, banana juice and cream over it. Shake for 10 seconds or until your ingredients are well-incorporated and the cocktail turns foamy and creamy.
The garnish inspiration:
As seen in the photo, decorating this cocktail can be as fun and creative as the cocktail itself. The first idea is to spread a thin layer of flower honey over the edge of your tumbler and dipping it into finely chopped chocolate.
You can also slice a not-overly ripe banana into thin slices, over which you pour a couple of drops of lemon juice to prevent them from turning brown. Dip them into melted chocolate, stick on a bamboo skewer and refrigerate until serving.
You will end up with a creamy and very satisfying mead and rum cocktail! It is not too sweet, so you can easily have two of them. Nevertheless, you can still make something more refreshing, such as this summer mead cocktail!
